Roland Minson | Mormon Basketball Player

Roland Minson was a war veteran, putting his basketball career on hold to help fight in the Korean War as a Naval Officer. This delay to move into professional basketball as a player proved indefinite when he turned down a second offer from the Knicks to instead become a banker.

However, this famous Mormon basketball coach wasn’t done with the sport. He became assistant coach with Brigham Young University, from which he had earned a degree, as well as acting as an official for WAC games.
