Paula Hawkins | Mormon Politicians

[sc:top_left_adsense300x250_1] As the first female official to be elected by the state of Florida, famous Mormon Senator Paula Hawkins represented a very mixed progressiveness in American politics. She used her position to help raise awareness of social issues such as child abuse and established an infrastructure to help locate missing children in 1983. Unfortunately, she also resisted the Equal Rights Act on the grounds that it would undermine the family unit. Her position on women’s rights were that they were in fact family rights, to be contested for both genders.
