Kent Floerke | Mormon Olympians

[sc:top_left_adsense300x250_1] The 1964 Olympics were held in Japan, where Kent Floerke made his name as a famous Mormon athlete which would later place him in the Hall of Fame for Kansas. A rare double All-American, this German-descended track runner he placed highly in each event and was only denied Gold by those who would go on to earn future golds at later Olympics.

For America, Floerke brought new understanding of the triple jump to coaches there in the States who were unsure how to correctly train and prepare athletes for the event. [sc:top_left_content] [sc:gallery_link]
