Gregory Newell assumed the role of Director of Presidential Scheduling in 1980, from where this famous Mormon politician went on to become a special assistant to the Reagan Administration as well as Undersecretary of State Republican. This celebrity Mormon politician then served for eight years as an ambassador to Sweden, holding the distinction of being the youngest ambassador in American history since the days of Jefferson.
