Dean Jagger | Mormon Actors

A highly successful and famous Mormon actor, Dean Jagger won various awards during his career, including an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in the film Twelve O’ Clock High. With his reputation established, he went from strength to strength in his career, winning more awards and depicting popular characters such as General Waverly in the the 1954 classic film White Christmas.

Though not raised in the Mormon faith, Jagger was baptized in 1972 and was an active LDS actor in the following years. His status as a Mormon celebrity was then later immortalized when he was given his own star on the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame.
