David King | Mormon Politicians

A staunch supporter of the Civil Rights movement in the 60’s, David King was a famous Mormon politician who followed in his father’s footsteps, who was also a famous Mormon politician, to chase a career in politics. He became a U. S. Ambassador to Africa, being a fluent speaker of French, and after his four year term as a Senator came to an end he returned to the LDS Church to assume responsibilities there. King became an LDS Bishop, later becoming President of Washington’s Temple thanks to his status as a celebrity Mormon.
